The Oakland Athletics signed designated hitter Khris Davis to a two-year, $33.5-million contract extension on Thursday. A day later, the team showcased its excitement by taking out a full-page advertisement in the San Francisco Chronicle to celebrate it.

The ad, however, appears to play a joke at the expense of the Golden State Warriors and their KD, Kevin Durant, whose future with the team is uncertain beyond this season.

Durant has a player option for the 2019-20 season, but he's expected to test free agency instead. His Warriors currently hold a 2-1 series lead over the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

Davis will take the field for the first time following his newly-minted deal on Friday night against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays. He's hitting .260/.305/.662 with an AL-leading 10 home runs and 20 RBIs through the season's first 20 games.
