Charles Oakley has thrown his hat in the ring to be considered for a role in "Space Jam 2."

"I would love to do it," the New York Knicks legend told Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson of Heavy.com.

Oakley made a cameo as himself in the original film, appearing in the scene where Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing have their talents stolen by the Monstars.

"Being in 'Space Jam 1' and seeing how things went, you would never know what would happen while you were doing Space Jam," he said. "We got to play basketball every day on the court, and it was so much fun."

Filming for "Space Jam 2" will begin this summer, with LeBron James assuming the lead role. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters in 2021, just ahead of the 25th anniversary of the first installment.
