Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant got away with a double dribble against the Miami Heat on Sunday with approximately 11 seconds remaining in a tied contest, according to the NBA's last-two-minute report.
The play led to DeMarcus Cousins' game-winning free throws.
"Combining video evidence from multiple angles confirms that the ball does not make contact with (Justise) Winslow's foot/shin and a discontinued dribble should have been called on Durant," the league stated in the report.
Durant missed a 3-point shot attempt after the double dribble, leading Cousins to secure an offensive rebound before getting fouled by Winslow with the score tied at 118.
Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra voiced his frustration after narrowly losing to the two-time defending champions.
"NBA, do not fine me. I'm allowed to say this," Spoelstra told reporters after the game. "It ends up being 26 to eight (free throw disparity). I know nobody wants to hear it and that's not why we lost. We had a three-point lead with a chance to get a stop. ... On the very next possession, it's a double dribble. Everybody can see it.
"Those are tough calls to make but everybody saw it, it's right there in front of everybody. That should be a violation, and you can't miss those calls."
Durant finished with 39 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
