James Harden's torrid scoring streak continued on Wednesday as the Houston Rockets star scored a career-best 61 points in the team's 114-110 road win over the New York Knicks.

Harden was once again forced to shoulder the load on offense for the injury-ravaged Rockets, shooting 17-of-38 from the floor - including 5-of-20 on 3-point attempts - and 22-of-25 from the free-throw line.

The reigning MVP's final tally tied Kobe Bryant's record for most points scored by a visitor at Madison Square Garden, falling just one point shy of the overall record of 62 set by former Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony.

It was Harden's fifth game with at least 50 points this season, and the first time a player has recorded at least 60 points and 15 rebounds since Shaquille O'Neal in 2000, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
