Kawhi out 2 games for load management
Kawhi Leonard is getting a couple nights off.
After the Toronto Raptors forward was ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Sacramento Kings, Raptors head coach Nick Nurse said Leonard will also sit out on Wednesday on the road against the Indiana Pacers. He'll then return on Friday to face the Houston Rockets.
"It's a medical decision from our medical team," Nurse said pregame on Tuesday, according to The Athletic's Blake Murphy. "And it's just a load management thing still."
After his DNPs on Tuesday and Wednesday, Leonard's missed-contest total will climb to 14 this season. He sat out one end of all back-to-back games earlier in the campaign, and this stretch will mark the third time he's been sidelined on both ends of a back-to-back.
Toronto is 10-2 so far without Leonard this season.
