The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to acquire forward Trevor Ariza from the league-worst Phoenix Suns, just as long as it doesn't cost them one of their budding pieces.
Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, and Josh Hart are reportedly off limits in any trade discussions involving Ariza, a source told the Los Angeles Times' Brad Turner.
The Suns reportedly turned down a three-team trade proposal with the Lakers - the third team involved isn't known.
The Houston Rockets have reportedly emerged as a suitor for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, with Turner mentioning that Houston reached out two weeks ago to ask about the Lakers guard. Whether this leads to the Rockets possibly entering the mix on a three-team deal to facilitate a move remains to be seen.
Ariza inked a one-year, $15-million contract with the Suns in the offseason and is currently averaging 9.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.4 steals while shooting 35.3 percent from behind the arc for the 4-24 squad.
