Boston Celtics center Al Horford will be out at least a few more games after being diagnosed with patellofemoral pain syndrome in his left knee, the team confirmed.
Horford has missed Boston's last two contests. "This is one of those things that it just wasn't getting better," the veteran said Wednesday.
Patellofemoral pain syndrome is also known as runner's knee and causes pain behind the kneecap.
Horford's layoff comes as the Celtics have won six in a row with games against the Wizards and Hawks coming up. The team's also been without backup center Aron Baynes over the last two contests and has started Daniel Theis in Horford's place.
