New Orleans Pelicans point guard Elfrid Payton will undergo surgery on his left pinkie finger on Tuesday and miss approximately six weeks as a result, the team announced Monday.
Payton injured the digit during Friday's win over the New York Knicks.
The Louisiana native has played only six games so far in his first season in New Orleans, shooting a career-high 43 percent from deep.
