Brooklyn Nets small forward Caris LeVert suffered a gruesome right leg injury after coming down awkwardly on the fallen body of Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Josh Okogie following a chasedown block attempt on Monday.

LeVert was down for several minutes before being stretchered off the floor at Target Center and then transported to a nearby hospital, where he'll undergo further evaluation.

Brooklyn went on to lose the game 120-113, but all head coach Kenny Atkinson could think about afterward was LeVert.

"He had a fantastic start to the season," Atkinson said, according to ESPN's Malika Andrews. "He's obviously made a huge jump. I just know that if anybody is coming back from this - the human, the character, the person, the player - he'll come back from this. But a tough, tough blow for the Nets. Our only thoughts are with him. Nothing else matters. The game doesn't matter tonight."

The 24-year-old began the night averaging a career-high 19 points on 47.7 percent shooting from the field, along with 4.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.3 steals a game for the 6-7 Nets.
