The 1-6 Cleveland Cavaliers would certainly benefit from the services of All-Star Kevin Love, but when exactly he'll return to the lineup remains unclear.

Love told reporters prior to Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks that while there's no timetable in place for his return from a big toe injury on his left foot, he does expect to be sidelined for the next several weeks at the very least.

"I would like to get back obviously as soon as possible," said Love, according to the Associated Press. "I had high hopes for the season. I know it's been off to a really rocky start, but the more I can be out there and help this team, the better.

"So I'm hoping to get out there as quickly as possible and hoping that it's only two or three weeks."

The 30-year-old forward stated the injury occurred during Cleveland's first preseason game against the Boston Celtics. While he was active for four regular-season games, he had to compensate by placing more weight on his right side, throwing off his balance.

Love didn't eliminate the possibility of surgery and maintained the best thing for the club would be for him to return at full fitness.

"The only way I'm going to be best for this team is to be healthy, and I haven't been the last month," Love said. "It's disheartening. I want to be out there."

Love inked a four-year, $120-million contract extension over the summer, which will kick next season when he makes $24.1 million. He's not eligible to be traded until Jan. 23.
