The Miami Heat are still pursuing a potential deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves for Jimmy Butler, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

News of the Heat's determination comes just days after a potential breakthrough fell apart between the two teams when the Timberwolves reportedly pushed for a greater return.

Minnesota has shown interest in acquiring Heat guard Josh Richardson in a deal for Butler, but rejected a swap that included Miami's 6-foot-5 swingman and a protected first-round pick, according to the New York Times' Marc Stein.

Wojnarowski adds that Butler was in the Timberwolves locker room this morning, but there was no guarantee that he would join his teammates for practice.
