Kobe responds to flinch controversy: 'You gotta remember I was swaying'
Twitter was abuzz Tuesday after an overhead camera shot revealed that Kobe Bryant wasn't standing directly in front of Matt Barnes during their infamous "No Flinch" moment.
However, The Black Mamba has brushed off the controversy.
"You gotta remember I was swaying. He did it and I didn't balk," Bryant told NBA writer Chris Palmer.
Barnes was asked about the 2010 incident during an appearance on "The Jump" in August.
"He was just on his Kobe stuff. Elbowing, talking trash, hit me a couple times, then I just told him, 'forget it, we're about to fight,'" he said. "So when I actually get the pass, if you look at me, I'm looking at the play developing, I'm not looking at him. And then I realized how close he got and that he didn't flinch after the fact and it was crazy."
Barnes, who was with the Orlando Magic at the time, added that the incident is what led to him joining the Los Angeles Lakers the following season.
