LeBron's production company lands NBC deal for basketball drama
LeBron James has signed on to produce a second television series for NBC.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar's production company, SpringHill Entertainment, secured a deal with the network that includes "a script commitment plus penalty" for a basketball drama called "Hoops," according to Deadline's Nellie Andreeva.
The news comes days after it was revealed SpringHill would be executive producing a comedy for NBC called "Brotherly Love" that's inspired by the upbringing of reigning NBA Rookie of the Year Ben Simmons in a multi-ethnic family.
Along with SpringHill, both Brownstone Productions and Warner Bros. Television will also serve as producers of "Hoops."
The show will tell the story of Stevie Decker, who, after a successful career playing and coaching in the WNBA, has taken a position at her alma mater to become the first female coach of a men's college basketball team.
