The Jordan Clarkson-led Philippines squad at the 2018 Asian Games will have to bide their time for another chance to upend tournament favorite China. The Pacific powerhouse edged out the Gilas 82-80 on Tuesday - a crushing result, given the Philippines led by three with 1:20 to play.

As the two most prominent basketball players in the tournament, the Cleveland Cavaliers' Clarkson and the Houston Rockets' Zhou Qi took center stage, filling the box score in what was an affair to remember. Here's how the two NBA players stacked up:

STAT J. Clarkson Z. Qi
Pts 28 25
Ast 4 2
Reb 8 12
Stl 2 1
Blk 0 7
FG% 40% 54.4%
3P% 38.5% 57.1%

Qi's performance was especially impressive. The 7-foot-1 center led China with 25 points despite taking just 11 shots from the field, complimenting his scoring touch with 12 boards and a menacing seven blocks in just over 32 minutes.

Dallas Mavericks signee Ding Yanyuhang had seven points on 3-of-6 shooting with five rebounds and five personal fouls in just under 18 minutes of floor time.
