Vince Carter can't believe DeMar DeRozan won't be suiting up in a Toronto Raptors uniform next season.

It's now been just over two weeks since the Compton, Calif., native was sent to the San Antonio Spurs for Kawhi Leonard, and Carter's feelings on the move fall in line with most of his counterparts throughout the league.

"Wow. That’s it. Simple as that," Carter said of the trade, according to The Athletic's Jon Krawcyzski. "DeMar has done so many great things there. He deserves to finish his career there."

DeRozan owns many of the franchise records once held by Carter and Chris Bosh. He's currently the Raptors' all-time leader in games played, points, and free throws made.

There have been rumblings for several years that Carter could play out his final season back in the city that launched him to global super-stardom, but that dream will have to remain on hold after he signed a one-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks to play out his 21st season in the league.
