Dwight Howard is about to join his fourth NBA team in four years, and he said it could have been the world champion Golden State Warriors instead of the Washington Wizards.
"Golden State called and I thought about them," Howard said, according to NBC's Chase Hughes. "But once John (Wall) sent me that message, I was like, man. I couldn't tell him at first, but I was like, 'Man, I'm going to be a Wizard.'"
Howard signed a two-year, $11-million contract with the Wizards with a reported second-year player option, more than the Warriors could offer. The Dubs ended up addressing their need at center by inking DeMarcus Cousins to the mid-level exception.
