Report: Raptors considering Monroe to fill out roster
The man they call "Moose" could be heading north.
The Toronto Raptors have shown interest in adding Greg Monroe to fill out their roster, league sources told TSN's Josh Lewenberg.
Toronto has also considered bringing back Lucas Nogueira, but a reunion seems unlikely at this point, Lewenberg added.
While Monroe doesn't address the Raptors' need of rim protection with the second unit, the 28-year-old can give them depth at the center position and is still a talented low-post scorer and rebounder.
After a productive five-year tenure with the Detroit Pistons to begin his career, Monroe fell out of the rotation for the Milwaukee Bucks over the past two seasons and ended up making stops with the Phoenix Suns and Boston Celtics last year.
Between the three teams, he averaged 10.3 points and 6.9 rebounds on 56.5 percent shooting in 51 games last season.
