Report: Pop gifts Harden toy after promising new car in shooting contest
USA Basketball senior men's team coach Gregg Popovich has apparently found a way to motivate the attendees at the star-studded minicamp in Las Vegas: a fresh set of wheels.
After promising a new car to the winner of a shooting contest, Popovich gave the victor, reigning MVP James Harden, a little yellow toy car, reports KSAT 12 TV sports anchor Larry Ramirez:
Team USA guard James Harden earned a brand new car for winning a shooting contest. As motivation Pop told the players he'd buy them cars and he delivered with Hot Wheels. That's a sweet ride. #KSATsports pic.twitter.com/xuqx8PIj4h

Presumably, the Houston Rockets superstar can afford to buy a new car without having to count on Popovich's act of charity. Harden is owed $30.4 million next season before his four-year, $169-million extension kicks in next summer.
