Much of the focus has been centered on the Hawks' acquisition of Carmelo Anthony, and his inevitable buyout. But in the trade with Atlanta the Thunder received a new point guard to back up superstar Russell Westbrook.

Dennis Schroder had a solid 2017-18 season for the lowly Hawks in just his second year as a full-time starter, but he expressed his frustration with the direction of the franchise. As he transitions back into a reserve role, the 24-year-old will be leading a bench unit for a potential contender, something the German guard is seemingly excited about.

Schroder averaged 19.4 points and 6.2 assists in 31 minutes per game for the Hawks last season. He goes to Oklahoma City with three years remaining on a contract worth $46.5 million.
