Report: Tyreke Evans meeting with Lakers; met with Thunder on Sunday
The Los Angeles Lakers are meeting with free-agent guard Tyreke Evans on Monday, sources told ESPN's Chris Haynes.
Evans reportedly met with the Oklahoma City Thunder in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Evans had a terrific, yet strange, season with the Memphis Grizzlies last year, posting his best numbers since he was a rookie. He was arguably Memphis' top player, but was forced to sit out several games as the Grizzlies actively tried to move him before the trade deadline and chose to continue without him for most of the second half of the year.
The Lakers and Thunder both lack a primary ball-handler off the bench who can make plays and score.
After struggling to hit 3-pointers early in his career, Evans shot a career-high 39.9 percent from downtown last season. He averaged 19.4 points, 5.1 boards, and 5.2 assists in 52 contests.
