The Boston Celtics have agreed to re-sign center Aron Baynes to a two-year, $11-million contract, sources told Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

The second season of the deal is reportedly a player option.

Baynes confirmed his return to the organization shortly after free agency opened up on July 1:

Baynes had arguably the best season of his pro career to date last year, starting 67 of 81 regular season games for a Celtics team that advanced all the way to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals.

The bruising 31-year-old center averaged six points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game, and even began to add a semblance of a long-range scoring touch during the Celtics' playoff run.
