A reunion between the Utah Jazz and their incumbent power forward could be on the horizon.
Derrick Favors will meet with Utah during the first day of free agency on Sunday in his hometown of Atlanta, according to The Undefeated's Marc Spears.
Favors is currently vacationing in Miami, but will fly back to Atlanta on Saturday evening to be ready to meet with the Jazz for extensive talks that could determine the remainder of Favors' free agency, league sources told Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune.
The 26-year-old has interest from other teams, but is also waiting to see what happens with premiere free-agent big men DeAndre Jordan and DeMarcus Cousins, Jones added.
Favors went on record earlier this week about the mutual interest in a return to Utah between him and the Jazz, saying "I know they want me back, and I want to come back. But, it’s a business and a numbers game, so we’ll have to see.”
The eight-year veteran averaged 12.3 points and 7.2 rebounds on 56.3 percent shooting in 77 games last season.
