Mark Cuban finally got his man.
The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to sign center DeAndre Jordan to a one-year contract, sources told The New York Times' Marc Stein.
Jordan's salary will reportedly approach that of the one-year, $24.1-million player option he declined to remain with the Los Angeles Clippers for one more season.
Jordan is a three-time All-NBA honoree, two-time All-Defensive Team selectee, one-time All-Star who led the league in rebounding from 2013-15. Since emerging as a full-time starter in 2010-11, Jordan has averaged 10.4 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game with 67.8 percent shooting from the floor.
Notably, this is the second time Jordan has signed with the Mavericks. He backed out from a verbal agreement with the organization when he was a free agent three summers ago, an episode which included several of his then-Clippers teammates barricading the door to his house while he ducked calls from Cuban.
Now, the Mavericks will get a taste of life with Jordan in the middle before he enters free agency again in summer 2019. If history doesn't repeat itself, that is.
