For a prospect who found himself falling in Thursday's draft partially due to concerns over a poor work ethic and attitude, Robert Williams didn't start his NBA tenure with the Boston Celtics off on a high note Friday morning.

The former Texas A&M standout missed his scheduled 11 a.m. ET introductory conference call after oversleeping through the Celtics' numerous attempts to get him on the phone.

"Right after the draft, I actually ran to my aunt's house and went to sleep because I was so tired from everything," Williams said Friday in a later call that repeatedly broke up, according to ESPN's Chris Forsberg. "When I woke up, my sister woke me up, she said, 'You have a conference call.'"

Williams was drafted 27th overall by the organization, but he wasn't present at the Barclays Center on Thursday. Instead, he was with his family in Louisiana celebrating at a local Buffalo Wild Wings.

The Celtics, according to Forsberg, aren't concerned about the 20-year-old big man's early hiccup, blaming the time difference for the miscommunication.

Boston will formally introduce Williams to the media next Friday.
