With the No. 15 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Washington Wizards have selected Oregon forward Troy Brown Jr.

Brown was a strong performer in his lone season at the collegiate level, putting up 11.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while contributing 1.6 steals on the defensive end. While Brown will likely play the three at the next level, his playmaking ability should be a huge bonus to teams in the NBA. He will have to improve on his 29.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc, but he has enough tools to still be a factor on the offensive end. Defensively, Brown plays well in the structure of the team, reading passing lanes and switching easily on screens.

What the analysts are saying

  • "Size and ball-handling make him an intriguing talent for a positionless league. Could be a matchup issue as a secondary playmaker." - Kevin O'Conner, The Ringer
  • "His jumper and adding strength are two areas that he really needs to develop moving forward, but his NBA-ready frame, rebounding, and defensive potential will give him opportunities to see the floor as he works on other parts of his game." - NBADraft.net
