Report: Cavs won't blow it up if LeBron leaves; called Spurs about Kawhi

The Cleveland Cavaliers are keeping their options open in the likely event that LeBron James leaves in free agency.

Cleveland is not interested in a full-scale rebuild if James takes his talents elsewhere. There will be no "blowing it up" for the Cavaliers, reports Terry Pluto of Cleveland.com.

Perhaps in relation to that strategy, the Cavaliers have also made a call to the San Antonio Spurs to inquire about the availability of Kawhi Leonard, who reportedly wants a trade, according to Pluto.

The Cavaliers' plan of keeping their roster together is not altogether surprising, since they planned for the future at the trade deadline. The veteran contributors will likely be available, but the young core was already installed with Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance Jr., Rodney Hood, and Cedi Osman spearheading the future in Cleveland.

Adding Leonard, however, will be difficult. The Cavaliers could conceivably offer the No. 8 pick and Kevin Love in a deal, but it's unclear if that would beat out more competitive offers from the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Boston Celtics.
