LeBron James took a rendezvous through South Beach to meet two old friends shortly before the NBA Finals began.

Udonis Haslem said James paid him and Dwyane Wade a short visit in Miami during the three days off between the conference finals and the start of The Finals.

"Right before they started The Finals against Golden State, I spent some time with 'Bron," Haslem told Ira Winderman of the Florida Sun Sentinel.

"He was in Miami. Me, him, and Dwyane got together and we spent some time together and we just chopped it up and we just talked."

James wrapped up an exhausting seven games series in Boston on May 27 and had three days off before Game 1 against the Golden State Warriors tipped off in Oakland on May 31.

Haslem said he would try to recruit James this summer but that their conversation before The Finals went beyond any future plans.

"A lot of things that I give him a different point of view on, and he gives me a different point of view on a lot of different things, too. So we police each other," Haslem said.

"That's the one thing we do. We aren't afraid to have those uncomfortable conversations with one another and check each other when each other is wrong or kind of lose sight of what's most important. And that's what we’ve kind of been doing, focusing on a lot of business things. As well, knowing in the back of our minds that we have decisions to make."

"Our conversation is way deeper than where LeBron goes next year," he said.
