Jerry Stackhouse has agreed to join the Memphis Grizzlies as an assistant under head coach J.B. Bickerstaff, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Stackhouse has coached the Toronto Raptors' G League affiliate, Raptors 905, for the past two seasons, winning the league's championship in his first year. His work with the 905 propelled his name into the discussion as an eventual NBA head coach, with the potential to be Dwane Casey's successor with the Raptors.
Stackhouse has developed a reputation as a coach who holds his players accountable. He played 18 years in the NBA before embarking on a coaching career, playing in two All-Star Games.
