JVG: Any game Cavs win in Finals would be a 'huge upset'

Not only are the Golden State Warriors heavily favored to defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers for the third time in the last four NBA Finals, but many observers expect a clean sweep.

That includes ESPN/ABC analyst Jeff Van Gundy, who believes the Cavs will be hard-pressed to win a single game.

"Any game they get in these Finals would be a huge upset to me," Van Gundy said on a media conference call Tuesday.

While the Warriors faced stiff competition from the Houston Rockets in the West finals, their path to the title round was mostly smooth and expected. The Cavaliers entered the postseason surrounded by doubt for the second straight year, only to have LeBron James singlehandedly carry them back to the NBA Finals. Cleveland faced seven-game battles against the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers. Only the Toronto Raptors folded up for them.

With accomplishments like that, and regardless of how many championships he ends up winning, Van Gundy said he believes James is on his way to the greatest career in NBA history.

"I think LeBron James is on his way to carving out the best career ever in the NBA," he said. "I think right now, in terms of who had the best career, it's Kareem Abdul-Jabbar."
