LiAngelo Ball on upcoming draft: 'Lakers is my priority'
The Ball family wants to stick together in Los Angeles.
LiAngelo, the middle brother between Lonzo and LaMelo, entered his name into the 2018 NBA Draft after playing professionally in Lithuania this season, and he's hoping to join Lonzo on the Lakers.
"Lakers is my priority, for sure. I want to play with my brother. Ever since I played with 'Zo, we went undefeated. Same thing will happen when we get older. We're just going to get stronger and faster and better feel for the game," LiAngelo told ESPN LA 710.
The Lakers have three picks (one in the first round, two in the second), but those pieces could be used to move contracts off their books ahead of another ambitious summer instead of picking up LiAngelo to appease Lonzo. In any case, LiAngelo is willing to join other teams, but his preference is clear.
"It will be a good outcome ... I'm willing to play for other teams. That's fine if they pick me. My priority is the Lakers. I just want to play with my brother," he said.
LiAngelo was not a highly touted prospect in high school, ranking as a three-star recruit, and his made-for-TV season with BC Vytautas didn't land him on many draft boards.
