Report: Melo traded to Hawks in 3-team deal, Thunder get Schroder

The Oklahoma City Thunder have reportedly dealt forward Carmelo Anthony to the Atlanta Hawks in a multi-team deal that involves the Philadelphia 76ers, with the Thunder acquiring guard Dennis Schroder in return, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

In the deal, the Thunder will also receive 76ers forward Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, the Hawks will get 76ers forward Justin Anderson along with the Thunder's lottery-protected 2022 first-round pick, and Hawks center Mike Muscala will go to the 76ers, according to Charania and ESPN's Royce Young.

If the Thunder's pick does not convey, it will become two second-round picks, Young added.

Anthony will reportedly be waived by the Hawks shortly after the deal becomes official. He will reportedly receive the entire $27.9 million owed for the upcoming season in the buyout, Wojnarowski added.

The Houston Rockets remain the front-runner for his services when the former All-Star hits the open market, according to Wojnarowski.

The deal will save Oklahoma City nearly $100 million in luxury tax after flipping Anthony's contract for the cheaper Schroder, who is owed $46.5 million over the next three seasons, Wojnarowski tweeted.
