LeBron passes Jordan for 2nd all time in playoff field goals
LeBron James continues to chase - and catch - greatness.
With a layup Sunday in the fourth quarter of Game 1 against the Indiana Pacers, the Cleveland Cavaliers icon notched his 2,189th career playoff field goal to pass Michael Jordan for the second-most in NBA history.
The only man standing in James' way for the top spot is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

James has overtaken many of Jordan's records, especially those relating to the postseason, as he's played so many more games and minutes.
G | MP | FG | 3FG | FT | REB | AST | STL | BLK | PTS | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Jordan | 179 | 7474 | 2188 | 148 | 1463 | 1152 | 1022 | 376 | 158 | 5987 |
James | 217 | 9127 | 2189 | 331 | 1478 | 1932 | 1501 | 390 | 210 | 6187 |
With that said, MJ has six championship rings, to James' three (and counting).
James finished with his 20th career playoff triple-double of 24 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as Cleveland dropped its first-round series opener at home, 98-80. The loss snapped a personal 21-game first-round winning streak for the four-time MVP.
