Tyronn Lue returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers' bench Thursday, watching LeBron James key a historic comeback from 16 points down with just over six minutes left against the Washington Wizards.
Lue admitted he was rusty with sets, compounded by the absence of point guards George Hill and Jose Calderon.
"I told the guys after the game, 'Good job of bailing me out,'" Lue said, per ESPN's Dave McMenamin. "Just on the fly, it was tough. And those guys did a good job of scoring 119 points with no point guard and just sticking with it. Our rotations were a little off tonight so, I mean, I was rusty."
Lue had been away from the Cavs for nine games to address stress-related health issues. He's taken his share of criticism as a coach over the last few seasons, but having LeBron tends to correct mistakes. James scored 13 points in the final 6:06 of the contest.
"I think we're ready for a deep run," Lue said.
