The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame's Class of 2018 was officially unveiled Saturday with former NBA stars Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Ray Allen, and Grant Hill headlining the bunch.
Here's the full list of luminaries bound for Springfield in September:
- Jason Kidd: 2011 NBA champion, 10-time All-Star, nine-time All-Defensive point guard, six-time All-NBA, five-time assist leader, 1995 Rookie of the Year. He's considered one of the best passers ever and retired after 19 seasons second all-time in assists and steals, and third all-time in triple-doubles.
- Steve Nash: Two-time MVP, eight-time All-Star, seven-time All-NBA point guard, five-time assist leader. He retired after 18 NBA seasons, finishing third all-time in assists, and currently serves as a consultant for the Warriors and GM of the Canadian national team.
- Ray Allen: Two-time NBA champion, 10-time All-Star, two-time All-NBA, Olympic gold medalist, and one of the greatest shooters of all time, who holds the record for 3-pointers made.
- Grant Hill: Seven-time All-Star, five-time All-NBA, 1995 ROY, and the first player from Duke to be enshrined following an illustrious college career in which he led the Blue Devils to two titles and was twice named an All-American.
- Maurice Cheeks: 1983 champion, four-time All-Star, five-time All-Defensive point guard over 15 seasons as a player and nine years as an NBA head coach.
- Tina Thompson: A women's basketball pioneer who was the first WNBA player drafted out of college and won four championships.
- Charles "Lefty" Driesell: Only NCAA coach to earn 100 wins at four different programs and created Midnight Madness.
- Charlie Scott: 1976 champion with the Celtics, five-time NBA/ABA All-Star, 1971 ROY. He was the first black player to get a hoop scholarship at North Carolina and was a two-time All-American.
- Rick Welts: A longtime NBA executive who was crucial in the growth of the league on a global scale, He created All-Star Weekend, marketed the 1992 Dream Team, and helped launch the WNBA. He's currently serving as the president of the Warriors.
- Rod Thorn: Involved with pro hoops for the past 50 years as a player, coach, and exec, and famously drafted Michael Jordan to the Bulls.
- Dino Radja: One of FIBA's 50 Greatest Players, the Croatian big man dominated the international game for decades and won two EuroLeague titles.
- Katie Smith: Two-time WNBA champ and all-time leading scorer in women's pro basketball between the ABL and WNBA.
- Ora Mae Washington (posthumous): Born in 1898 and believed to be one of the best female athletes of her time, capturing the Women's Colored Basketball Championship 11 years in a row.
