Anthony Davis passes David West to become Pelicans' all-time leading scorer

With his 32nd point Friday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, five-time NBA All-Star Anthony Davis became the all-time leading scorer for the New Orleans Pelicans, passing David West for the top spot.

The 24-year-old big man finished with 43 points on 17-of-34 shooting, 10 rebounds, and three steals in 38 minutes of action as New Orleans picked up an impressive 114-100 road win at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Davis began the night ranked fifth overall in the Association in scoring at 26.4 points per game, eighth in boards (10.6), 12th in field-goal percentage (54.7 percent), and second in rejections (2.18).

Friday marked his 380th appearance for the Pelicans, which is 150 fewer games than West during his eight-year run with the organization.

Davis is already the franchise leader in rebounds, blocks, and free throws. He's also third in both games and minutes played, second in steals, and eighth in assists.
