The Cleveland Cavaliers aren't throwing in the towel just yet in their pursuit of DeAndre Jordan ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.

Cleveland and the Los Angeles Clippers continue to discuss the near 7-foot big man, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Conversations with potential third teams to help facilitate the trade have also been held.

The Cavaliers were previously reported to be offering their own first-round draft pick instead of the Brooklyn Nets', which apparently stalled negotiations at the time. Brooklyn has lost the NBA's second-most games (37).

Cleveland was also hoping to pawn off several "unwanted" contracts onto Los Angeles, with Tristan Thompson (two years, $36 million remaining) and J.R. Smith ($15.6-million team option in 2019-2020) being in play.

Jordan is averaging a double-double (11.5 points and 14.9 rebounds) on 65.3 percent shooting for the 27-25 Clippers, and has a player option worth just over $24 million for next season.
