The NBA announced on Tuesday that Damian Lillard, Karl-Anthony Towns, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Russell Westbrook, and LaMarcus Aldridge have been named Western Conference All-Star reserves.
The seven reserves join starters Stephen Curry, James Harden, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, and DeMarcus Cousins as the West's 12 representatives for the Feb. 18 All-Star Game in Los Angeles, where for the first time, team captains Curry and LeBron James will draft two All-Star rosters as opposed to the usual East versus West format.
The Golden State Warriors guard Thompson will be making his fourth All-Star appearance. He's averaging 20.6 points and four rebounds, and currently leading the league at 45.3 percent from three. Green will be making his third All-Star appearance, averaging 11.3 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.6 assists.
The Minnesota Timberwolves will also be sending multiple All-Stars with Butler and Towns. Butler will be making his fourth straight appearance, averaging 21.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and five assists. This will be Towns' first time making the All-Star game, averaging 20 points and 12.1 rebounds.
Westbrook will be the lone member of the Oklahoma City Thunder to attend the All-Star festivities, making his seventh All-Star appearance. Westbrook is averaging 24.8 points, 10.1 assists, and 9.7 rebounds.
With Kawhi Leonard playing sporadically, Aldridge has taken over for the San Antonio Spurs, making his sixth All-Star appearance. He's currently averaging 22.3 points and 8.7 rebounds for the surprising Spurs.
And lastly, the oft-snubbed Lillard will be making his third All-Star appearance and first since 2015 for the Portland Trail Blazers. Lillard is averaging 25.2 points and 6.6 assists.
