The New York Knicks are fading after a strong start, and they're hoping to address some weaknesses at the trade deadline.

New York is looking for an athletic wing player for the future, and they have their eye on Los Angeles Lakers guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.

Adding KCP, however, would come with a few complications. Not only do the Knicks lack cap flexibility to accommodate his $17.7 million contract, but KCP has also served jail time this season after violating his parole. He will also become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Caldwell-Pope has been up and down during his first season in Los Angeles. The Rich Paul client has averaged 13.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.7 steals while shooting 41.6 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from deep.
