Clippers' Jordan misses 1st game of career due to injury
DeAndre Jordan has been the ultimate iron man for the Los Angeles Clippers, having never missed a game due to injury in his 10-year career.
That streak of good fortune has now come to an end, as Jordan was ruled out of Saturday's afternoon meeting with the Sacramento Kings at Staples Center with a sprained ankle.
Jordan has missed games in the past via coach's decision, rest, or illness, but never an injury.
During Thursday's six-point victory over Sacramento, Jordan came down extremely awkwardly on his left ankle following an alley-oop jam over the back of Skal Labissière.
Clippers head coach Doc Rivers doesn't expect Jordan - who was hopeful he'd be able to take the floor Saturday - to miss an extended period of time.
Jordan ranks second in the Association in rebounds (14.9) while contributing 11.8 points and a rejection per game on 66.1 percent shooting for the 20-21 Clippers.
