Curry says latest injury isn't serious, hopes to return this week

Stephen Curry is frustrated, but at least he's not severely hurt.

The Golden State Warriors point guard re-sprained his right ankle during Wednesday's shootaround in what he described as a "freak" accident during a routine move, according to ESPN's Marc J. Spears.

Curry, who'll miss Wednesday's tilt against the Los Angeles Clippers, indicated the injury isn't serious. He hopes to return to action this week, either Friday against the Milwaukee Bucks or Saturday versus the Toronto Raptors.

The knock comes less than two weeks after Curry recovered from a sprain that sidelined him for 11 contests, which is why it's presenting more of a mental hurdle than a physical one.

The two-time MVP was on an absolute tear since his return, pouring in 35.2 points on 57.4 percent shooting from the field and 53.2 percent from long distance, to go along with 5.6 dimes, 5.6 assists, and 1.4 steals over five games - all wins - for the top-seeded Warriors.
