Kobe Bryant's "Mamba Mentality" apparently extends to his product sales.
The Los Angeles Lakers retired both Nos. 8 and 24 on Monday in honor of the Black Mamba, and AEG, which owns Staples Center, sold $824,000 in Bryant jerseys and related memorabilia in the process.
"You couldn't make that number up," AEG's vice president of merchandise, Sean Ryan, told ESPN's Darren Rovell, referring to the figure's inclusion of both retired jersey numbers.

It does seem unbelievable, like so many aspects of Bryant's illustrious career.
As Rovell noted, Monday's overall revenue ranks among the highest in a single day for the company, but falls well short of the record $1.9 million AEG sold on the day of Bryant's final game in April 2016.
