Magic's Fournier out at least 2 games with sprained ankle

Kim Klement / USA TODAY Sports

Orlando Magic guard Evan Fournier will miss at least Friday's game against the Denver Nuggets and Saturday's trip to face the Atlanta Hawks due to a sprained right ankle, the team announced.

Fournier hurt himself in overtime of Wednesday's home win against the Hawks. X-rays and an MRI confirmed a sprain.

The 25-year-old Frenchman is hitting career highs in points (18.3), field goal percentage (47.8), and 3-point shooting (41.5). The Magic are 7.1 points per 100 possessions better with Fournier on the floor.

The injury is another blow to Orlando's scoring load. Starting small forward Terrence Ross is also out indefinitely with a sprained MCL and tibial fracture.
