Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant is dealing with a left thigh contusion and won't play Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the team announced.

The reigning Finals MVP suffered the injury in the first quarter of Monday's contest against the Miami Heat. Durant remained in the game and went 10-of-10 from the free-throw line en route to notching a game-high 21 points. He also contributed eight rebounds, six assists, three blocks, and a steal in 33 minutes of the 97-80 victory.

The eight-time All-Star is averaging 24.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, five assists, and a career-high 2.5 blocks this season.

Andre Iguodala, Patrick McCaw, and Omri Casspi are the candidates to get more floor time in Durant's absence.

The defending champs are looking to extend their four-game winning streak, while the new and improved Timberwolves have won five in a row.
