Knicks broadcasters caught critiquing Porzingis on hot mic

The never-ending drama that is the New York Knicks has been renewed for another season!

Controversy always seems to find the Knicks and it was the MSG broadcast team that kicked things off this season. Analysts Alan Hahn and Wally Szczerbiak were caught on a hot mic ripping the performance of star center Kristaps Porzingis while the broadcast cut away from a commercial.

"The other thing you could do is just kill Porzingis for being minus-20 in 16 minutes," Hahn said to Szczerbiak. "Dude like come on man. You’re a star. This is what you’re doing? You’re just out there? (He’s got) a lot to learn."

Szczerbiak agreed with Hahn's point before the broadcast corrected itself.

Truth be told it wasn't anything that Hahn or Szczerbiak couldn't have just intentionally said on the broadcast.

Porzingis was definitely disappointing on Sunday as he logged just six points on 2-of-7 shooting, five rebounds, and three blocks in 16 minutes. And with perpetual punching bag Carmelo Anthony having been shipped off to Oklahoma City, the responsibility falls upon Porzingis to carry the Knicks both on and off the court.

But also it was just preseason, and it's a bit harsh to be ripping anybody when the games don't even matter yet, which is probably why the conversation took place while the two broadcasters thought they were off the air.
