After a two-year absence from the Association, Webster attempted to make a comeback with the New Orleans Pelicans this summer. It wasn't to be, however, and the 30-year-old forward used social media to announce his retirement from the game Saturday.

Webster was selected No. 6 overall in the 2005 draft, but struggled to stay healthy throughout his career. Between various injuries to his feet, back, and hip, Webster played just 580 out of 804 possible regular-season games from 2005-15.

Through stops with the Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Washington Wizards, Webster averaged 8.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
