With the Los Angeles Lakers opening their preseason against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Honda Center on Saturday night, a large number of fans lined up for a chance to meet the always-offbeat LaVar Ball, father of Lakers rookie and No. 2 overall pick Lonzo Ball.

Say what you will about LaVar and some of the remarks he's made, but you can't deny he's a man of the people, going the extra mile for his supporters.
