In a shocking twist, former Knicks president Phil Jackson was among the first wave of pundits to weigh-in on the blockbuster deal which will reportedly send Carmelo Anthony to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Despite the fact that it was the calamitous relationship between Jackson and Anthony which led to the the superstar forward asking for a trade in the first place, there don't seem to be any hard feelings on Jackson's end.

For reasons unknown, Jackson tweeted, then deleted the message below.

With Jackson often publicly pining for Anthony to waive his no-trade clause, helping trigger a rebuild in New York, tension began to mount between the franchise's on and off-court leaders. At the conclusion of the 2016-17 regular season, in which the Knicks stumbled to a 31-51 record, Anthony said it was "hard to trust" Jackson due to his passive-aggressive style.

Jackson and the team mutually agreed to part ways on June 28. On July 18, it was reported that Anthony had informed the team he wished to play elsewhere for the coming season.
