NBPA president to Curry: Withdrawn White House invite 'a badge of honor'
While his approval rating with President Donald Trump may be at an all-time low, Stephen Curry is still getting support from at least one president.
Michele Roberts, president of the National Basketball Players Association, tweeted words of encouragement to Curry after Trump announced he'd withdrawn an invitation for the NBA champion Golden State Warriors to visit the White House.
"Steph: consider this withdrawal a badge of honor!" Roberts wrote.
Though Trump insisted it was Curry's hesitation in committing to a visit that triggered the team's rescinded invitation, ESPN's Ramona Shelburne confirmed the Warriors had never actually received an official invitation.
In other words, Trump gave the Warriors the classic "You can't quit; you're fired" treatment.
