The topic of who is the greatest hooper of all time tends to generate plenty of debate. And for one candidate's daughter, it generated plenty of confusion.

Kobe Bryant recounted the adorable story of how his 11-year-old daughter Gianna discovered the meaning of the term "GOAT" during a family trip to Disneyland.

"It's me, my wife (Vanessa), my eldest daughter Natalia, and our middle child Gianna," Bryant told South China Morning Post's Andrew McNicol. "And fans throughout the park keep walking by me saying, 'You're the GOAT. You're the GOAT!'

"Finally, Gianna turns to one of them and shouts, 'How rude!' I asked her what was wrong, and she says, 'They keep calling you a goat, that is so rude!'

"Oh baby, I think they mean the Greatest Of All Time," the Los Angeles Lakers legend told his daughter, who then thanked a fan for what she now understands to be praise.

The Lakers announced earlier this week they'll retire both Nos. 8 and 24 in honor of Bryant, who retired in 2016 following an illustrious 20-year career spent exclusively in purple and gold.

The 39-year-old, who celebrated the news with one of his classic 4 a.m. workouts, revealed what being the GOAT means to him.

"Being the GOAT depends on your taste; what you feel constitutes someone receiving that label," he said. "But to me, it's about sharing advice and helping people achieve their dreams."

The Black Mamba's resume includes five championships, two Finals MVPs, two scoring titles, 18 All-Star selections, 15 All-NBA nods, 12 All-Defensive honors, and the 2008 MVP award.
