Pistons' Bradley not shocked by trade: 'I knew I was going somewhere'

Avery Bradley may have entered this offseason as the Boston Celtics' longest-tenured player, but the 26-year-old guard had a feeling that 2016-17 would mark his final season with the franchise.

With the Celtics linked to several big names earlier this summer, Bradley was not surprised he was dealt to the Detroit Pistons in July, believing there was a good chance he would enter the upcoming season in a new uniform.

"Not from me because you know, I'm eight years in the NBA and it's the business, man," Bradley told Bleacher Report's Gerald Narciso. "Anything is possible, anything can happen at any time. ... I wasn't shocked that it happened, you know what I mean? I knew it was a possibility; it was something that we spoke about. Obviously, you can't read the future and know what team, but I knew I was going somewhere."

With Bradley set to hit unrestricted free agency next summer, the 6-foot-2 guard was open to the possibility of moving teams, knowing that the Celtics would have had a difficult time retaining him beyond 2018.

"I knew it would be a hard decision," Bradley said. "I was open to it, though. I knew if I didn't sign this summer that it was going to be a possibility that I could be moved because it's beneficial for both parties, you know, for Avery Bradley and the Celtics."

Bradley averaged 16.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.2 steals, while shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 39 percent from distance this past season.
